Chauffeur service in Hayes, UB3 and UB4

Hayes is close enough to Heathrow that people here measure journeys by which terminal, not by how far.

Chauffeur service in Hayes — summary

Heathrow is an indicative 12-30 minutes from Hayes, about 4 miles by road, and that one figure explains most of the work on this page. Chauffeur service across Hayes and Greater London: outbound transfers timed backwards from the check-in desk, arrivals met at the barrier, hourly hire that holds the car near Hayes & Harlington between appointments, and long-distance runs that leave before A312 The Parkway fills. Collections are agreed at a named kerb, because in Hayes the legal stopping point is not always the front door. The fleet runs from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class up to the Rolls-Royce Phantom, all of it driven into Hayes. No price list is published; the written Hayes quotation confirms the final price and any applicable tax.

01About Hayes

Chauffeur service in Hayes

The town has two halves. Hayes Town, around the station and Station Road, is the older and denser part; Hayes End and Yeading spread north towards the Uxbridge Road. The Old Vinyl Factory site, where EMI pressed records for most of a century, now carries offices, flats and a venue, and it has changed the traffic around Blyth Road considerably.

For the airport the A312 Parkway is the route, joining the A4 or the M4 depending on the terminal, and twelve to thirty minutes is realistic. Stockley Park, the business park on the far side of the M4, is nominally close and takes longer than you would expect, because it is reached by a single road in from Stockley Road.

03The area

The Old Vinyl Factory and the streets that reach it

The street plan of Hayes, described by someone reversing into it.

Station Road and Coldharbour Lane carry most of the local traffic and both are narrow with cars parked along them. The A312 is the fast north-south route, dual carriageway with roundabouts, though it stacks in the afternoon between the A4 and the Uxbridge Road. The station approach was rebuilt for the Elizabeth line and is better than it was, but its drop-off is small. The canal divides the town with only a few bridges across it.

04Demand

Between The Old Vinyl Factory and the terminal

Demand across Greater London is not evenly spread. This is where it clusters in Hayes.

Airport-adjacent work of every kind: airline and handling staff, freight and logistics people, and residents who fly long-haul out of a terminal they can very nearly see. Stockley Park’s offices generate corporate journeys, often ending at a London hotel after a day of meetings. And there is a great deal of family airport work in which the luggage, rather than the passenger count, decides the vehicle.

05Road time

The Hayes clock

Traffic in Hayes is predictable if you know the hour. This is the hour A312 The Parkway turns on.

The A312 is heavy from 06:30, because airport shifts begin before the office day does, and again from 14:30 when they change over. Station Road is slow at school times. The M4 at Junction 4 backs up onto the local roads in the evening. Terminal journeys are short, so the risk here is the first two miles rather than the last five.

06The kerb

Standing, waiting and the pick-up point in Hayes

The pick-up point in Hayes, and the notes that come with it.

The station approach takes a short set-down and nothing more. Residential streets are mostly unrestricted and a car can wait at the door, which is the usual arrangement for a five o’clock departure. Stockley Park has internal roads with visitor parking outside each building, so we ask for the building number. The industrial estates off Nestles Avenue and Blyth Road have gated yards the car can enter.

Collection notes for Hayes

  • 01Residential streets here are largely unrestricted, so for an early departure the car waits at the door rather than a junction.
  • 02Stockley Park is addressed by building number, with visitor parking outside each one; the estate has a single road in.
  • 03The station drop-off is small, so we time the chauffeur’s arrival to your train instead of holding in it.
  • 04Tell us the luggage count. Hayes airport work is frequently more cases than a saloon boot will take.

07Included as standard

What you get when you book from Hayes

  • 01

    The Heathrow schedule, monitored

Early landings at Heathrow get the same attention as late ones, and the car leaves Hayes sooner. If Heathrow clears you forty minutes ahead of schedule the car is already parked, the board is already up, and the drive to Hayes simply starts sooner.

  • 02

A chauffeur for Hayes, not a rideshare

Chauffeurs are briefed before they set off: the address in Hayes, the entrance, the flight, and anything you have told us about the door you will come out of. None of it is discovered on the Hayes pavement.

  • 03

Someone waiting when you land at Heathrow

The Heathrow car park is paid before you land, so the walk out towards Hayes is uninterrupted. Cases onto the trolley, trolley to the boot, then an indicative 12-30 minutes back to Hayes. Nobody asks you to find a lift at Heathrow or remember which level the car back to Hayes is on.

  • 04

What goes in the boot before A312 The Parkway

Awkward items are worth naming: a cello, a wheelchair, a set of display boards for a stand at Hayes Town shops. None of them are a problem, and all of them change which car we send to Hayes.

  • 05

Waiting, drop-offs and stops in Hayes

At a wedding or an event in Hayes the car is usually wanted at both ends of the day rather than continuously. We quote that as one held Hayes booking, not two jobs with a gap you end up paying for twice.

  • 06

    The Hayes to Heathrow figure

Traffic risk on A312 The Parkway sits with us. A bad morning on A312 The Parkway makes the journey longer and the price identical, which is most of the practical difference between a chauffeur and a metered car.

08Terminals

Hayes to the airports

Where an area is large the two ends of it can differ by twenty minutes, and Hayes is no exception. These are worked from Hayes itself. If your address sits in the UB3 district rather than the far edge, the figure shifts a little and the quotation says by how much.

Collections, departures and arrivals in Hayes

Before the engine starts in Hayes

LF-01Before the engine starts in Hayes

Before the engine starts in Hayes

Gated entrances, courtyards and buildings with two doors in Hayes are worth flagging when you book. The chauffeur will have looked at the approach from A312 The Parkway beforehand rather than working it out with the engine running.

If you have forgotten something the car turns round in Hayes. That costs a few minutes at the Hayes end and nothing at all next to discovering it at the Heathrow check-in desk.

  • Pick-ups at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 made on the side that tolerates a stationary car
  • Collections from Botwell Green Sports and Leisure Centre arranged through the desk, not the forecourt
  • The car holds on Station Road, Hayes when the kerb outside your door will not take it
  • Cases carried from the door in Hayes rather than watched
Coming home to Hayes

LF-02Coming home to Hayes

Coming home to Hayes

Coming into Heathrow off a night flight, with Hayes still to reach, is when the difference shows. You are tired, the Heathrow hall is long, Hayes is still to come, and the useful thing is not a discount but somebody taking the trolley off you.

The route into Hayes is chosen at the airport exit and not before it. What A312 The Parkway is doing at that moment is knowable; what it was doing when the booking was made is not.

  • Groups gathered at one point inside Heathrow, one chauffeur per car into Hayes
  • A quiet cabin for the 4 miles back into Hayes
  • Aircraft tracked into Heathrow from the tail number, so Hayes is reached on time
  • Chauffeur inside the Heathrow arrivals hall with a board naming you and Hayes

Trains solve distance and create a last mile into Hayes. Arriving at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 with luggage at seven in the evening is precisely the problem a chauffeur is for, and the car is on the rank side before the train stops.

For a group arriving together at Hayes & Harlington, the meeting point matters more than the vehicle. We agree one spot inside Hayes & Harlington beforehand so that everybody walks to the same place instead of three different ones.

Nothing on the card is a quotation for the UB3 district. It is a guide, and the written price for a run out of Hayes is the thing that actually binds.

The fleet runs from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class up to the Rolls-Royce Phantom, and every class does the same Hayes journey. What changes is the cabin, the luggage capacity and the presence of the car when it stops outside Botwell Green Sports and Leisure Centre.

Where the choice is genuinely close, tell us what the Hayes day is for. A board meeting near The Old Vinyl Factory and a family holiday to Heathrow pull in different directions, and rarely towards the same car.

13Practicalities

From Hayes & Harlington to a written price

The day the Hayes diary decides

LF-06The day the Hayes diary decides

The day the Hayes diary decides

Filming, viewings and site visits around Hayes book this way. The car moves between Hayes & Harlington and West Drayton at whatever pace the day sets, and the equipment stays in the boot instead of coming out at every stop.

Most hourly bookings in Hayes start as something smaller. A transfer becomes a transfer plus a wait, then plus a second Hayes address, and at that point holding the car is simpler and usually cheaper.

From a Hayes address to a confirmation

From a Hayes address to a confirmation

Send the date, the pick-up address in Hayes, where you are going and how many people and cases are travelling. That is enough for a written Hayes quotation. A flight number or a tail number helps, and so does the airline, because it decides which Heathrow terminal the car leaves Hayes for.

Where a building in Hayes has a concierge or a front desk, tell us. The chauffeur speaks to them rather than standing in the lobby at Botwell Green Sports and Leisure Centre working out who to ask.

17Answers

Hayes chauffeur questions

Four things worth knowing before you book a collection in Hayes.

How long does Hayes to Heathrow Terminal 5 take?

Twelve to thirty minutes for around four road miles, out on the A312 and round the northern side or via the M4 spur. Terminal 5 sits at the western end of the airport, so it is often quicker from Hayes than Terminal 4 on the south side.

Can you collect from an office at Stockley Park?

Yes. Give us the building number, because the park is addressed by building rather than by street and there is only one road in from Stockley Road. The chauffeur uses the visitor parking outside your building and comes to reception.

Is there a drop-off at Hayes & Harlington station?

A small one, rebuilt with the Elizabeth line works. It takes a brief set-down and no more, so we time the car to your train rather than having it sit there. If a train is delayed the chauffeur waits on a nearby street instead.

Do you run collections early enough for an airport shift start?

Yes, and a good deal of our Hayes work is exactly that. Shifts here begin well before the office day, and the roads at four or five in the morning are clear, which makes those journeys among the most predictable we do.
