Chauffeur service in Warwick, CV34 and the road out to Parkway

Warwick is lovely to look at and awkward to drive. The trick is knowing which of its two stations a car can actually get to.

Chauffeur service in Warwick — summary

Booked from Warwick for the journeys that bracket a flight or a meeting: an early car to Birmingham, a late one back, or a chauffeur held for the day while you move between The Market Place, Warwick Castle and wherever the diary sends you next. Warwick is in Warwickshire, and M40 Junction 15 governs how the car gets in and out of it. Indicative drive from Warwick to Birmingham is 25-45 minutes, about 16 miles. Waiting at Birmingham, the meet inside the hall and flight tracking are part of the Warwick transfer rather than extras bolted on afterwards. No standing price list is published; the figure is confirmed on a written quotation for your own Warwick booking.

01Warwick in brief

Chauffeur service in Warwick

The centre is a compact grid inside two surviving town gates, with Jury Street, High Street and Smith Street carrying traffic that would rather be elsewhere, and Castle Hill dropping steeply to the Avon. Waiting anywhere along that route is not an option, so collections are timed rather than parked.

Warwick Parkway, out on the western edge with a large car park and direct access from the A4177, exists precisely because the town centre cannot absorb station traffic. For a morning train it is where we suggest meeting. The M40 sits at junction 15 on Longbridge island, two minutes from the racecourse.

03The area

M40 Junction 15, and everything that hangs off it

Where the streets are wide, where they are not, and what that means for a car in Warwick.

Medieval bones, Georgian rebuilding after the fire, and a castle at the end of it all. The gates pinch traffic to what is effectively single file at busy times, and the streets inside are narrow with kerbside loading. Beyond the ring the pattern relaxes into the villages — Barford, Hampton Magna, Sherbourne — where lanes are narrow but quiet. The A46 runs north to Coventry and is quick outside peak, and Longbridge island at its southern end is where the delays gather.

04Demand

Who we collect from Warwick Hospital

The shape of a Warwick week, stated plainly.

The castle is the obvious generator, with coach groups, weddings and corporate events across the year, and its drop-off arrangements are the difference between a five-minute walk and a twenty-minute one. The racecourse holds a couple of dozen fixtures a year, mostly jumps. Warwick Hospital serves the whole district. And a large share of the ordinary work is airport transfer out of the villages, where the lanes make a taxi unreliable at five in the morning.

05Road time

Setting the collection time in Warwick

Road time in Warwick, stated plainly rather than optimistically.

Traffic through the town gates is effectively single file, and between four and six the Smith Street approach stops moving. Race days fill the Hampton Street and Coventry Road approaches from an hour before the first race. The A46 southbound at Longbridge is slow in the evening peak. For airport runs we normally start from Warwick Parkway or head straight out on the A46 rather than trying to get out through the middle of town.

06The kerb

Kerb space in Warwick

The stopping place is the whole problem in Warwick. This is how a booking near The Market Place solves it.

There is no useful waiting on Jury Street or High Street, and the Market Place is a pay-and-display square. For the castle, the Stratford Road entrance has a set-down before the car parks; the town-gate approach is not usable for a vehicle. Warwick station on Coventry Road has a small forecourt that fills quickly. Parkway is the easy option: a big car park, a proper drop-off and access straight off the A4177, which is why most of our rail meets here happen there.

Collection notes for Warwick

  • 01Warwick Parkway is the station a car can actually use: big car park, real drop-off, direct off the A4177.
  • 02Castle set-downs are at the Stratford Road entrance, before the car parks — not through the town gates.
  • 03Race-day collections are arranged away from Hampton Street, which fills an hour before the first race.
  • 04Village addresses at Barford and Sherbourne are on unlit lanes; we ask for a gate or a barn as a marker.

What you get when you book from Warwick

  • 01

Someone waiting when you land at Birmingham

If you are travelling with someone who needs help, say so when you book the return into Warwick. The chauffeur meets you further inside Birmingham, and at the Warwick end the car goes to the closest legal point rather than the convenient one.

  • 02

    Road knowledge of Warwick

On hourly work the chauffeur stays with you for the whole Warwick day. By the third stop they have worked out where in Warwick you like to be collected and how long you actually take, and the car is at the kerb before you reach it.

  • 03

    The Birmingham schedule, monitored

Waiting at Birmingham is counted by us rather than added to a Warwick invoice. A chauffeur sitting at Birmingham for ninety minutes because a connection failed is our problem, not a line on the Warwick quotation.

  • 04

    Collecting twice in Warwick

Roadshow days are the extreme version: five or six stops between The Market Place and Kenilworth, a car that never leaves you, and a chauffeur who has the next address before you have left the last one.

  • 05

One figure for Warwick, agreed first

If you cancel, the terms are the ones already on the quotation, set out in plain English before you committed to the Warwick booking rather than buried somewhere you have to go looking.

  • 06

Carried from the door in Warwick

Roof boxes and trailers are not part of a Warwick booking. What we can do is send a larger vehicle to Warwick, or two cars, and quote both so the choice is yours rather than ours.

08Terminals

How far Warwick is from a departure gate

These are drives we make regularly from Warwick, timed door to terminal rather than motorway junction to motorway junction. Add the walk from your Warwick door to the car and the queue at the Birmingham drop-off, then work backwards from the check-in desk. We do that sum for you on the written Warwick quotation.

Leaving Warwick for a flight

LF-01Leaving Warwick for a flight

Leaving Warwick for a flight

The arithmetic is simple and people still get it wrong: 25-45 minutes of road, plus the walk from the drop-off, plus the queue at the desk, plus whatever M40 Junction 15 adds on the day. We do that sum before quoting a Warwick collection.

The car stops at the Birmingham terminal your airline actually uses, not the one nearest M40 Junction 15. Cases out, trolley found, and the chauffeur stays until you have everything before turning back towards Warwick.

The cabin is warm before you reach it at Birmingham and quiet for the whole run into Warwick. If you want to sleep for the 25-45 minutes back to Warwick, that is the expected use of the back seat rather than an imposition on anybody.

Hourly hire suits Warwick days where the destination list is still provisional. Start at an address in Warwick, aim at The Market Place, and change it twice before lunch without anyone having to rebook anything.

The chauffeur stays the same all day, which by the afternoon means they know which entrance at Lord Leycester Hospital is quickest and where near The Market Place you would rather be dropped.

The Warwick handover, in order

The Warwick handover, in order

Most of the work in a Warwick collection happens before anyone appears. Where to stop in Warwick, which way to face, how long the car can sit there, and what to do when a delivery van is already in the only space.

The chauffeur carries the bags to the boot in Warwick and, at the far end, out of it again. In between, on M40 Junction 15, the driving is steady rather than quick, because arriving calm is the entire point of the exercise.

  • Pick-ups at Warwick Parkway made on the side that tolerates a stationary car
  • Collections from Warwick Hospital arranged through the desk, not the forecourt
  • The car holds on A46 when the kerb outside your door will not take it
  • Cases carried from the door in Warwick rather than watched
Matching the car to the Warwick run

Matching the car to the Warwick run

Ask about luggage out of Warwick before comfort. Two people and two cases out of Warwick is a saloon question; four people and four cases is not, and that is the one mistake which cannot be fixed at the kerb.

Where the choice is genuinely close, tell us what the Warwick day is for. A board meeting near The Market Place and a family holiday to Birmingham pull in different directions, and rarely towards the same car.

Warwick Parkway and the drive that follows

Late trains into Warwick Parkway are the usual reason a chauffeur ends up waiting. That waiting is part of the Warwick transfer rather than a line added at the end of it.

For a group arriving together at Leamington Spa, the meeting point matters more than the vehicle. We agree one spot inside Leamington Spa beforehand so that everybody walks to the same place instead of three different ones.

Four things make a quotation possible: the date, the address in Warwick, where you are going and how many of you there are. Everything after that about the Warwick journey is refinement rather than requirement.

The confirmation is the reference point for the whole Warwick journey. Time, Warwick address, vehicle, price. If any of them changes, a new confirmation is sent rather than a verbal amendment nobody can find on the morning in Warwick.

17Answers

Warwick chauffeur questions

Answers about Warwick, not general ones. If yours is missing, ask about your own address on M40 Junction 15.

Warwick station or Warwick Parkway?

Parkway, in almost every case. It was built for park and ride, with a large car park and a proper set-down off the A4177. The town station has a small forecourt that fills at peak and sits on a road with nowhere to wait.

Where does a car set down for Warwick Castle?

At the Stratford Road entrance, before the car parks. Trying to approach through the town gates leaves you on a narrow street with no waiting and a long walk down Castle Hill.

Can you cover Warwick Racecourse fixtures?

Yes. The course is a few minutes from junction 15, but the Hampton Street and Coventry Road approaches fill from an hour before racing, so we position early and give you a meeting point away from the main gates.

Do you serve Barford, Hampton Magna and Budbrooke?

All of them, plus Sherbourne, Norton Lindsey and Hatton. Those lanes are narrow and unlit, so we ask for a gate colour or a nearby farm name rather than relying on a rural postcode.
