01/The short answer
Yes. Tell us the child's age, height and weight at the booking stage and the correct seat is fitted and checked before the car sets off. Fitting happens at our end rather than on a pavement, which is the difference between a calm departure and a fraught one.
Age alone is not enough to choose a seat, which is why the question always comes back asking for height and weight too. A tall four-year-old and a small six-year-old need different things, and the wrong seat is worse than no arrangement at all.
QA-01/What to tell us, and why
What to tell us, and why
Age, height and weight for each child, and how many seats are needed. That combination decides the type of seat and where it can go, and it is the only reliable way to get it right before the car arrives rather than after.
Say also whether you would rather use your own seat. Plenty of families do, particularly on an airport run where the seat is going on the aircraft anyway, and a seat the child already knows is often the easier option on a long drive.
Age, height and weight for each child travelling
Number of seats, and whether they sit together
Whether you are bringing your own seat instead
Any pushchair, and whether it folds
Journey length, so breaks can be planned
QA-02/Which car suits a family
Which car suits a family
Two child seats plus luggage is usually a V-Class rather than a saloon, because the seats take up the width and the cases still have to go somewhere. It is cheaper than an S-Class by the hour and considerably more useful.
One seat and light luggage works perfectly well in an E-Class or S-Class. Where the family includes a pushchair and an airport's worth of bags, the honest answer is nearly always the larger vehicle, and it is better said at the quotation stage.
QA-03/Airport runs with children
Airport runs with children
A terminal meet is worth considerably more with children than without. Being met inside, with the bags taken and someone walking with you to the car park, removes the worst part of an arrival when you are also managing two tired children.
On departure, the drop is at the terminal doors and the chauffeur takes the bags to the trolleys. If a seat needs to come with you for the flight, say so and it is unfitted and handed over rather than left in the boot.
QA-04/Long drives with small passengers
Long drives with small passengers
Plan the stops rather than hoping. A four hour drive with a toddler is a two-stop drive, and a chauffeur who knows the route can name the service areas that are bearable rather than pulling into the first one after somebody starts crying.
Downloaded films, water and something to eat all matter more than any feature of the car. On an hourly booking the stops cost nothing; on a fixed transfer they are built into the timing rather than treated as lost minutes.
No. Fitting a seat is part of preparing the car for the journey you booked, in the same way that luggage handling is. What can change the price is the vehicle, if two seats and the luggage mean a V-Class rather than a saloon.
Can I use my own child seat?
+
Yes, and many families prefer to. Tell us at the booking stage so the chauffeur knows to expect it and can help fit it. A seat the child is used to often makes a long journey easier than an unfamiliar one, however good the substitute.
Can a child travel unaccompanied?
+
Arrangements for an unaccompanied young passenger are made with the booker directly, with named contacts at both ends and a handover to a specific person rather than to an address. Tell us the age and the circumstances and we will say plainly what we can do.
Tell us the journey. We will send the price in writing.
Message us the date, the pick-up and where you are going. You will get a fixed written quotation with the vehicle, the chauffeur’s arrival time and what the figure includes — no form to fill in, and no estimate that moves later.
